Venue Comments

Travelling picture-show companies used this venue for the exhibition of film throughout the first two decades of the twentieth century (Parkinson 1995, p. 116).

In 1913 the Condon brothers, local businessmen, established a permanent cinema, Crown Pictures, which traded on a weekly basis. The exact date of closure is unknown but Parkinson (1995 p. 117) has been unable to find evidence of exhibition after 1919.
